While the most recent Starcraft Ghost is not on the list (maybe it's been revived?) Blizzard mentioned titles like Warcraft Adventures, some fantasy title called Raiko, Nomad featuring two giant zeppelin airships, Games People Play, Crixa, Shattered Nations, Pax Imperia and Denizen (thanks Firingsquad).

Activision's conf. call revealed quite a few new titles in the works, most scheduled for fiscal 2009 (anywhere from April 2008 - March 2009). New titles in franchises such as: Spider-Man, Marvel: Ultimate Alliance, Call of Duty, a makeover for the Tony Hawk franchise, the eagerly awaited James Bond (using an updated Call of Duty 4 engine) and titles based on Dreamworks movies Kung Fu Panda and Madagascar II. Giving credence to yesterday's Guitar Hero IV rumor, Activision confirmed two new Guitar Hero titles are in development, but declined to give details.

Set between the largely unexplored era between Ep III and Ep IV, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed casts players as Darth Vader's "Secret Apprentice" and promises to unveil new revelations about the Star Wars galaxy. Late January at the Marché international de l'édition musicale trade fair, Activision selected 20 tracks, out of 200 submissions, to be featured on Guitar Hero IV. Music label Albert Productions' UK boss James Cassidy was so excited he issued a press release spilling the beans that British band The Answer's 'Never Too Late' was selected as one of the titles for the next Guitar Hero installment, "This is a tremendous honour and privilege for both The Answer and the Alberts label. With a new album due later this year we look forward to taking the band to a whole new level of international success."

According to an article in the Gainesville Sun, Florida-based developer Artificial Studios, known for Monster Madness and the free AGEIA PhysX-based FPS CellFactor, has merged with UK-based Ignition Entertainment. Prior to the merger, Artificial Studios was already working on an action game for next-generation systems (thanks Firingsquad). Southpeak Interactive's PS3 version of Monster Madness is under development at Psyonix Studios.

NCsoft is bringing back one of the most popular in-game events that City of Heroes and City of Villains has ever seen: The Double XP Weekend. For an entire weekend (Feb. 8 to Feb. 10), Hero and Villain characters will receive double the XP, Prestige, Influence, and Infamy when they take on adventures and battle crime or cause mayhem.

THQ announced results for fiscal Q3 2008, with net sales of $509.6 million, compared to last year's $475.7 million, driven by Cars: Mater-National, MX vs. ATV Untamed and SmackDown vs. Raw 2008. In the subsequent investors conference call, THQ CEO Brian Farrell revealed that Red Faction III is being developed by Volition for PS3, X360 and PC. Scheduled for fiscal 2009 (Apr. 2008 - Mar. 2009), RF3 will focus on interactive environments and destruction. First details on THQ's UFC-licensed title are expected during a pay-per-view event on Memorial Day weekend.

Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures is an Online Action RPG, mixing a deep, story-driven single-player experience and a massive and brutal multiplayer end-game brings forth the ultimate representation of the Age of Conan. Having received its rating, the North American version will not have nipples, while the German edition has full gore, but will not have decapitation, dismemberment, and over-the-top type fatalities. Everywhere else in Europe the game is un-censored.
UPDATE: Debunking her own previous statement, Funcom community manager Shannon Drake now claims the North American edition will not be censored, nipples included.

Rock Band allows you to perform famous rock music with your friends as a virtual band using drum, bass/lead guitar and vocals, as well as online. On Feb. 5, 2008, players can download 3 new tracks, which include "Roam" by the B-52s, "We Care a Lot" by Faith No More and "Calling Dr. Love" by KISS, at 160 Microsoft points ($1.99) each. They're expected on PSN later this week.

While we're all waiting for a new installment in the Max Payne franchise, we might have to settle for a movie first. Starring Mark Wahlberg (known for The Departed, Planet of the Apes or The Perfect Storm) and directed by John Moore (Behind Enemy Lines, Flight of the Phoenix) shooting will commence on March 2 in Toronto. Max Payne tells the story of a cop who wages a one-man war on crime when his wife and child are killed by thugs, but it is unclear whether the movie will follow the game plot.

What would a Bully movie be about? Or a flick based on the controversial Manhunt series? We might never know. According to Variety's gaming blog, Take Two has been declining Hollywood offers for a Grand Theft Auto movie deal for many years, until it nearly materialized last year, with Eminem rumored as the protagonist. Just when everybody though the deal was sealed, something derailed, and the project with one of the major movie studios was scrapped.
