'Phantom Brave: We Meet Again' (Wii) Gets Delayed

Posted on Monday, June 01 @ 23:34:46 BST
Nintendo WiiPhantom Brave improves upon the tactical gameplay found in Disgaea and La Pucelle in every way. Its redone, open-ended battle system is limited only by the user’s imagination. If you fell in love with Disgaea, you definitely won’t want to miss out on what’s sure to be this year’s best Strategy RPG. NIS has pushed the release from its original June date back to August in order to include the Japanese voice overs.

Set in the year of 921, in a world called Ivoire, lives Marona, a 13-year-old orphaned girl with a special ability to communicate with phantoms. Her ability brings resentment from others, but cheerful and optimistic Marona is not bothered. Marona believes in her parents' teachings that people will one day come to like her as long as she stays compassionate and kind. Now Marona travels throughout Ivoire with her guardian, "Ash the Phantom," to resolve disputes around the world.

In Phantom Brave, players will take on the role of Ash and Marona to complete missions assigned by their clients. Players are not alone in their battles though. Marona is able to create custom Phantom troops that you may manage and control.

Released in 2004 Phantom Brave revolutionized the strategy RPG genre with its unique free roaming battle fields and a unit summoning system called “CONFINE”. Now Phantom Brave returns to a new console with added features and extra chapter stories. Everything from the original game will be carried over, so gamers who hasn’t played Phantom Brave can fully enjoy this title.

Phantom Brave is a turn based strategy RPG that incorporates unique battle styles and a hardcore character customization system. Players can create units from a number of list of monster/ghost categories and power them up to a exponential number.

There are two main phases to Phantom Brave’s battle system. The first phase is the Confine phase. Marona the protagonist of this game can summon ghosts and monsters as battle units to fight for her. However, in order to do so she must “confine” souls in to objects on the battlefield like rocks, plants, and items. Depending on what you object as battle units to fight for her. However, in order to do so she must “confine” souls in to objects on the battlefield like rocks, plants, and items. Depending on what you object you use as the host the stats of the units you summon will greatly differ.
