Irish bookmakers Paddy Power expect Sony’s next-gen console, PS3, to become the fastest selling console to date.
The bookie expects PS3 to sell out in an astonishing 60 seconds after going on sale, and have invited punters to place bets on which launch title will prove the most successful.
Currently, Resistance: Fall Of Man is the favourite at 6/4, with Sonic The Hedgehog brining up the rear at 100/1.
“Betting gets very busy around the launches of new consoles”, observed Sharon McHugh, spokesperson for Paddy Power. "The PS3 is the Aston Martin of computer consoles, so as launches go it doesn't get much bigger than this!"
"Everyone will be rushing to get their hands on one, and to celebrate the launch we plan on giving a couple away to our punters!"
