'Conflict: Denied Ops' (ALL) Gets Orchestral Soundtrack

Posted on Wednesday, April 30 @ 02:07:41 BST
All ConsolesConflict: Denied Ops is Pivotal Games' new paramilitary themed co-op FPS, putting you in of control of merciless operatives, each of them highly specialized in both weapons and military tactics. Renowned for his Hollywood caliber orchestral writing, composer Richard Jacques (Headhunter, Mass Effect) has scored an original music soundtrack for Conflict: Denied Ops.

When the US government needs to act, but can not afford to be associated with the operation, deniable operatives are dispatched. Members of the unit must bear no identity; no objects, papers or clothing that could associate them with the government. Their task is to do anything necessary, no matter how ruthless, to dissolve the threat.

Venezuela is left in a state of civil war after the government was brutally overthrown by a military coup. With factions fighting to reinstate democracy, the U.S. government has offered their assistance, though the new government regime has threatened to deploy nuclear weapons if the U.S. meddles in Venezuelan affairs. The threat needs to be neutralized, and the U.S can’t risk nuclear war.

Conflict: Denied Ops puts players in control of two of these merciless operatives, each of them highly specialized in both weapons and military tactics. With gameplay focused on accessible two-man tactics, utilize simple commands and switch seamlessly between team mates to lay down covering fire, explore diverging paths, create distractions and pin the enemy under fire.

The CIA Special Activities Division operates in isolation and secrecy. If captured, any link with the U.S. Government will be denied.

To complement the non-stop action and cinematic moments throughout the game, Jacques composed an energetic military score that employs traditional ethnic instruments and vocals for the settings across Africa, South America and Russia. The music is fully interactive, reacting to the player’s movements, and enhances the immersive experience of the fast-paced gameplay.

“Richard Jacques’ work on Conflict: Denied Ops has been inspirational,” said Stuart Poole, Senior Producer at Pivotal Games. “He rose to the challenge of producing dynamic music for multiple regions and has given Conflict: Denied Ops its own distinct sound whilst giving each region in the game its own unique feel. The music deeply enhances the gaming experience by making the player feel very much part of the action.”

Richard Jacques is classically trained with an extensive repertoire in contemporary music genres and the recipient of numerous industry awards. Continually in demand by the world’s leading game studios, he is internationally recognized as one of the A-list composers working in video games and rated as “One of the truly distinctive game music composers in the industry today” (PLAY Magazine, US).

Making full use of Pivotal's new Puncture Technology, Conflict: Denied Ops features a highly destructible environment, allowing players to utilize new tactics such as shooting through walls to create sniping holes or blasting open new paths to take the enemy by surprise. Fighting for a good cause, does not mean they have to play by the rules. Brutalize the opposition, blast down buildings, and destroy everything in true Hollywood fashion - all throughout politically sensitive areas across South America, Africa and Russia.

Conflict: Denied Ops is a highly accessible co-op FPS featuring massive, extremely explosive firefights across destructible environments. Work as a team to utilize the specific skills of each operative and experience the ultimate in destructive satisfaction with tons of exploding objects and an endless barrage of terrorists who are begging to be blown to hell.

    Features :

        * Two-Man Tactics – Switch between team members at any time in single-player mode for maximum control, or have a friend join your game through either online, system link or split-screen.
        * Explode Your Enemies – Levels are built around massive fire fights with a continuous stream of enemies, and tons of exploding objects littered around the level to help your cause.
        * Destroy Everything – Obliterate your enemies with explosions, demolish buildings, blow through walls and destroy almost anything in the environment.
        * Accessible Action – In single-player mode, give commands to your team mate simply by pressing or holding a single button. Concentrate on the action, not complicated menus or control schemes.
        * Puncture-Tech – Utilize strategic destruction made possible with new Puncture-Tech™ technology developed by Pivotal Studios. Blast open new pathways, shoot unaware enemies through walls, or create holes in your cover to generate firing paths.

Conflict: Denied Ops is scheduled for release February 8, 2008.
