The CEO talked about the 3-to-1 sales advantage of Sony's Blu-ray high definition DVD format over rival HD-DVD. When questioned about the Wii, Stringer proclaimed: "Wii is a wonderful device, but has a different target audience."
Later in the interview, he compared the PS3 to a Mercedes, and again said that it could be a computer, or even a home server.
"If we fail, it is because we positioned PS3 as the Mercedes of the video game field. PS3 is after a different audience and it can be whatever it wants — a home server, game device, even a computer."
We're not sure exactly what he means by that, since the PS3 is obviously not a computer or server. Marketing hype aside, it's interesting to hear Stringer talk admirably about the competition.
