Tony Hawk's Project 8 Joins WCG LineUp

Posted on Thursday, March 15 @ 15:45:40 GMT
Xbox 360Tony Hawk’s Project 8 is the newest Xbox 360 title to join Gears of War, DOA4 and PGR3 in the World Cyber Games official roster.  Click on Read More for the full story.

The World Cyber Games (WCG), the world’s largest computer and video game festival, today announced two additional high-profile games for its 2007 competitions. Joining the roster are Tony Hawk’s Project 8 for the Xbox 360 and Carom3D for the PC. With 12 official titles, the WCG now boasts the most games ever in a major e-Sport competition and makes major strides to engage a broader mainstream global audience.

Tony Hawk’s Project 8 and Carom3D join a lineup of 10 previously announced titles including:

    1. Starcraft: Brood War (PC)
    2. WarCraft III: The Frozen Throne (PC)
    3. Half-Life: Counter-Strike(PC)
    4. Command & Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars (PC)
    5. Age of Empires III: The WarChiefs (PC)
    6. FIFA Soccer 07 (PC)
    7. Need For Speed Carbon (PC)
    8. Gears of War (Xbox 360)
    9. Dead or Alive 4 (Xbox 360)
    10. Project Gotham Racing 3 (Xbox 360)

The additions of Tony Hawk’s Project 8 – the premiere skateboarding title - and Carom3D – the ultimate interactive billiards experience – are the coup de grace to what is the most prolific lineup of games in e-Sports competition history, said Hyoung-Seok Kim, CEO of International Cyber Marketing (ICM), the global organizer of WCG. Our diverse and expanding lineup of titles has something for everyone and will certainly make this the most exciting and compelling WCG tournament ever.

Additionally, WCG welcomes both players and spectators to visit and register at www.worldcybergames.com, from March 12th through March 20th to help in molding each game’s rules and regulations: The provisional game rules have been prepared and decided by WCG tournament masters and national organizers from participating countries. After completing thorough game testing and discussions, WCG would also like to gather gamers’ opinions worldwide and invite them to provide any feedback at this site. Of course, the WCG would also like interested players to visit their own country’s WCG website and register to play their favorite game(s) in their WCG National Championship. A complete listing of participating countries and links to the national websites can also be found at www.worldcybergames.com.

EM>WCG is a worldwide event open to all game lovers, from casual gamers to hardcore and pro-gamers. In the spirit of fair competition, we invite everyone to visit our Website to help us form a set of rules for each game in order to provide the best game-playing experience possible, Kim added.

With well over one million players from more than 70 countries, the World Cyber Games is widely regarded as the gaming world’s premier tournament. Featuring online and offline events held throughout the world, the year-long series attracted more than 1.3 million competitors worldwide in 2006. The 2006 WCG Grand Finals in Monza, Italy broke new ground as more than 24 million people tuned in to watch the competition unfold in real-time, marking the first-ever global, live satellite broadcast for an e-Sports event.
