I was inspired to direct a PS3 commercial recently,

That was pretty cool. I liked the way it was all black and white, save for the apples. I don't really know how you do that though, similar to chroma-key how they remove solid coloured backgrounds?

From the start, was the idea thought up specifically for a PS3 ad? Or was the PS3 just a convenient product to apply a previously thought out ad idea/finished project?

It was planed from the start to be a PS3 commercial, Lynch's commercials for PS2 inspired me to make it bizarre and abstract. Color was removed with Chroma and Luminance using Color Correction 3way.
